Sacramento is America's Farm-to-Fork Capital, home to more than 40 regional farmers markets and more than 1.5 million acres of active farmland. In Sacramento, Farm-to-Fork is more than a trend or a catchphrase. It's a way of life. And every year, the entire community comes out in September for an epic Farm-to-Fork celebration to get a taste.
From wine tasting to a free festival, an exclusive dining experience, and hanging with renowned chefs, there's no better way to celebrate the region's bounty than one of these upcoming Farm-to-Fork events.
Legends of Wine: September 5, 2024
Sacramento's Farm to Fork festival kicks off with the much-anticipated Legends of Wine event on September 5, 2024. At dusk, the best wines in the Sacramento region will be poured in front of the state Capitol. The sunset will illuminate the Tower Bridge as local winemakers pour their best varietals alongside perfect cheese pairings.
If this sounds like an idyllic evening, then the Legends of Wine event is for you.
International wine experts and taste-makers Darrell Corti and David Berkley know a thing or two about wine. Corti is considered one of the most influential people in California's wine industry and has been inducted into the Vintners Hall of Fame. Berkley served as White House Wine Consultant for the Reagan, Clinton, and Bush administrations.
These local "legends of wine" select the wineries that best represent Sacramento's wine scene for the Legends of Wine event. Each winery pours two varietals. Guests can pair their tastings with cheese, bread, sausage, and desserts from local restaurants.
Get your tickets for Legends of Wine, and you can meet the winemakers producing some of the most talked-about wines in and around the region, mingle with other oenophiles (wine lovers), and meet the iconic wine legends themselves.

"The exploding popularity of the Farm-to-Fork Festival has really demonstrated two things," said Visit Sacramento President & CEO Mike Testa. "First, is that there is an incredible appetite in our community and beyond to learn more about the people who are growing and creating the food we eat. The second is that Sacramento has really proven itself to be an ideal host city for festivals [with] a full weekend that music fans and foodies locally and from across the country can come and enjoy."
